Your internship at CMS Hasche Sigle

The earlier we start supporting young lawyers, the better. Therefore, each year CMS Hasche Sigle enables many university and college students to complete a four-week placement with us (this is a mandatory part of most law courses).

CMS Hasche Sigle offers an internship programme you can really benefit from. Workshops, learning by doing, involvement in challenging mandates, visits to interesting clients and/or court – not forgetting the occasional social event – provide a comprehensive insight into the legal profession and what it is like to work for a large, international firm.

Each trainee works with an experienced associate who acts as their mentor throughout the internship.

 
Duration
 

Placements are designed to last between three and four weeks. If your institution requires a longer internship, this can usually be arranged.

At our Cologne/Dusseldorf (3 weeks) and Frankfurt (4 weeks) locations, the training programme runs in March and September only. At all other locations you can apply for an internship at any time of year.
 

Requirements

 
During an internship at CMS Hasche Sigle you are almost certain to encounter practice areas that you have not yet come across during your studies. Accordingly, there are no special requirements.

You should, however, have completed your basic studies and at least finished a module on the German Civil Code and in one other area. A good knowledge of English and a particular interest in commercial law are also expected.
 

Applying

 
The number of internships is limited. Early application is therefore recommended, stating which stage of your studies you have reached (number of semesters, modules completed, grades). A copy of your school-leaving certificate together with your intermediate examination and module certificates must be submitted. Information about any periods of time spent abroad or particular knowledge of English must also be provided.
